The role: Sales Strategy Manager, SMB Advertiser Acquisitions

The Acquisitions Program Team drives the acquisition of new high-growth advertisers for Google by partnering with Inside Sales (ISO), External Telesales (ETO) and Marketing Organizations. The team leads the design, planning and operations of programs that drive a scalable and analytical approach to generating incremental revenue growth. We work in partnership with cross-functional teams across Sales, Marketing, Finance and Engineering. Experts in delivering strategy and process improvement, team members are analytical and strategic with a pragmatic approach to high impact delivery. In this role, you will drive programs that accelerate growth and improve Google’s Acquisition productivity. This is a strategic role that will require you to develop solutions to complex, ambiguous and high visibility business challenges. You will partner the Market Intelligence team to deliver acquisition targeting models, and you will work closely with Sales and Marketing leaders to ensure smooth execution and implementation of these strategic solutions through the sales channels. You will provide analytical expertise and business understanding to the Acquisitions leadership teams. Additionally, you will have exposure and visibility to senior executives and cross-functional leaders as you evangelize the revenue opportunity and highlight revenue impact from your programs. You are a well-rounded top performer who can be a key contributor in a high energy growth environment. You should be a self starter that can "crunch the numbers" one minute and critically think through strategic issues and communicate to senior stakeholders the next. You will gain invaluable experience in this high impact role working in a dynamic environment.


  • Lead member of the team, taking a role in defining, analyzing and communicating key metrics and business trends for the management teams. Execute sophisticated analyses and modeling that translates data into actionable insights, and supports targeted selling – including prospect profiling, pipeline management and lead insight Development and ongoing evolution of data-driven sales targeting models.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis to predict, measure and interpret business trends and inform key decisions.
  • Own and manage the successful execution of global programs through ISO and ETO channel. Research and analyze key business drivers, trends and operating metrics.
  • Identify opportunities for product, program, and process improvement, with a focus on driving considerable revenue growth.
  • Build and lead the preparation and publishing of metric forecasting and reporting and communicate findings on a regular basis to all levels of management.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree with emphasis on coursework of a quantitative nature (engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, statistics, economics or finance) (In lieu of degree, 4 years relevant work experience).
  • Several years of analytical work experience, in management consulting, business operations and analytics, FMCG or equivalent.
  • Experience analyzing data with strong Excel, database query experience (e.g. SQL), statistical expertise with tangible revenue generating quantitative modeling experience.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 12 years relevant work experience, including 9 years industry experience.
  • Distinctive project management, problem solving and analysis skills, combined with strong business judgment and top communication skills.
  • Proven track record of thought leadership in applying data driven models that have had a tangible impact on sales and marketing operations across international markets.
  • Analytical mind that is capable of structured analysis of data together with ability to synthesize data into useful formats and bring actionable insights.
