Enterprise PHP Developer
Programmer/Analyst III
Office of Information Technology

We are looking for a PHP developer who is passionate about running an enterprise web service and knows the ins and outs of complex high availability systems. You will be working with other passionate members of our team to develop an award winning custom learning management system for the UC Irvine students and faculty.

Skills & Requirements:
* Professional software development experience using PHP and MySQL for at least 5 years
* Experience with MVC based frameworks (Symfony, CakePHP, etc)
* Experience providing mentorship and code reviews to junior developers
* Comfortable working in a LAMP environment and know your way around a Linux box
* Pride in the code you write and the systems you run

Nice to have:
* Experience with using Doctrine ORM
* Excellent written and spoken communication skills
* Experience working directly with clients and end/users
* Experience with other scripting languages such as Perl, Python, Haskell, etc.

UC Irvine's Office of Information Technology (OIT) provides IT solutions to a diverse campus population. The Academic Web Technologies software development team (AWT) creates and supports instructional technologies including the robust homegrown learning management system known as the Electronic Educational Environment (EEE). As the use of technology within education continues to grow, meeting the changing and complex needs of instructors and students through software development and integration will be key. AWT focuses on academic software and educational technology, keeping UC Irvine current and competitive in higher education. AWT programmers bring experience, high-standards, flexibility and new ideas to the work we do. The Enterprise Developer will help shape the future direction of software development by mentoring programming staff and architecting our future educational technology infrastructure.

Starting salary between $59,676-$91,905, depending on qualifications
