I. POSITION SUMMARY
A data Steward for Webster will strategically manage assigned master data entities across the enterprise, while ensuring high levels of data integrity, availability, and privacy.
 
This individual will be responsible for monitoring the overall enterprise data quality by establishing consistent data definitions, monitoring adherence to governance and policies, and standardizing data naming for the purpose of cleansing and mastering data for a Customer Hub.
 
 
II. MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES
1. Establish consistent data definitions for customer hub master data
2.Monitor overall data quality for assigned data entries for customer hub master data
3.Define processes to monitor adherence to data governance policies and procedures for Webster Master data, and making policy recommendations as needed.
4.Ensure the data management methodologies include the steps, activities, and deliverables required to consistently achieve high quality data for Webster.
5. Work closely with line of business representatives in all areas of the bank to establish standards around referential and conditional master data values related to the customer hub.
6. Identify and manage the resolution of data quality issues, such as uniqueness, integrity, accuracy, consistency, and completeness in a cost-effective and timely fashion.
7. Work with other team members to plan and conduct data--cleansing initiatives.
 
III. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
 
* BA/BS in Computer Science/Business (or equivalent work experience to substitute for education)
* 3+ years' experience analyzing data using basic sql utilities, data cleansing software, or MDM software
* Demonstrated research/analytical skills with attention to detail
* Excellent documentation skills
* Demonstrated skills that reflect the ability to work with multiple business lines to drive governance and stewardship
