The CRM Data Steward, Analyst will understand and implement the strategic vision for CRM, by supporting the Manager – CRM on the iterative improvements, ongoing operations and expanded use of the system. The Firm uses industry leading software to continue to develop and manage client relationships.




The role works daily with the manager to support the use of CRM by lawyers and professional team members, holding a sharp focus on maintaining a system of rich information with the highest level of data integrity.




The position involves cross-department collaboration with the Information Technology, Finance, Secretarial, Business Development & Marketing departments. He or she will cultivate relationships with IT to ensure business-driven requests are technically sound. The role works with marketing to continuously strive for high quality, insightful data. This is a New York-based position. 


Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Support plans for data integrity.



  • Monitor CRM traffic daily. 



    • Utilize reports to check for and resolve potential duplicates. Work with users to ensure that the best data is retained and shared. Take responsibility for training users to work in the system and avoid duplicate creation. 
    • Check on deletes to ensure that no inadvertent actions are taking place. 
    • Screen automated feeds to ensure operations are functioning properly.



  • Assist with content quality issues. Take responsibility for researching and staying up to date on external data sources that could improve quality.



  • Take a proactive approach to troubleshooting. 



    • Assist with questions regarding data content, source and editing. 
    • Assist with questions regarding MS Outlook/Exchange contact sync. 
    • Assist with questions regarding Blackberry/Good Outlook contact sync.



  • Oversee weekly and daily reporting to verify that current levels of contacts, accounts, relationships and activities are as expected and user adoption targets are being reached.



  • Coordinate CRM Dynamics on-boarding. Work with lawyers and secretaries to bring people onto the system in a streamlined and precise way. Take the lead on scheduling transitions and providing education when needed. Own the follow-up process to verify that transition occurs correctly.



  • Support the daily business activities of Business Development and Marketing &Communications team members. Assist, as needed, on the development of marketing lists, creation of reports and execution of advanced searches to support the needs of the team and partners.



  • Stay current on best in class CRM systems and use findings to improve the system itself. 


In addition, ensure that responsibilities related to maintaining firm and client information are adhered to by all employees. This includes complying with the firm’s information security policies, protecting firm assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference, and reporting security events or potential events or other security risks to management. 




  • Experience with MS Dynamics CRM; software application usage experience required. 

  • Experience using MS CRM import/export tools to maintain datasets, preferred. 

  • Understanding of relational databases, preferred. 

  • High level of ease working with and improving data sets, especially in a high volume capacity. 

  • Proficiency in standard spreadsheet, database and word processing applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Access and SharePoint are pluses). The Firm provides additional training in core software programs, if needed, to enhance skills and speed of work. 

  • An ability to reach agreed upon goals with limited supervision. 

  • Excellent analytical, research, editing and organizational skills, with a high level of attention to detail. 

  • An ability to handle time-sensitive requests from multiple lawyers or professional team members, across time zones, and to generate quality work product in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; a confident, professional manner that will come across easily and effectively with the Firm’s most senior lawyers and staff. 

  • Familiarity with corporate and litigation law practices is helpful.

    Education and/or Experience

  • Significant experience with a CRM system; management of large data sets required and software application usage experience required. Experience with CRM implementation and roll-out is helpful. 
  • BS, BA or equivalent required. 
  • CRM certifications are a plus.
