An Economist, an MBA holder, a Development Expert and a Project Governance Specialist with over sixteen years of post graduate national and international work experience.Have served as a Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant and later a Planning, Monitoring Evaluation Manager for Sierra Leone's multi donor trust fund manager- the National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA) for a period of over ten (10) years. During this time, Wurie acquired cutting edge knowledge, skills and experience over a long period of time, which have contributed towards his professional astuteness, and avails him with some outstanding attributes in project management. He also served with the Ministry of Finance in Sierra Leone as Non-State Actorsβ National Coordinator for public financial management oversight and scrutiny, and was a Core Member of the national Public Financial Management Oversight Committee (PFM-OC).
Currently,he is serving with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as a Development Planning and Budgeting Specialist working with State governments and spearheading the preparation of Perspective Plans, Strategic Plans and Annual Work Plans and Budgets. He has just concluded a two week long consultative workshop designed to solicit contributions from all stakeholders (State, County, Civil Society and Development Partners) for consideration in the preparation of the State Strategic Planning process. He is currently leading the preparation and finalisation of the State strategic Plan, whilst at the same time preparing training materials in strategic leadership, project management, monitoring and evaluation for capacity building initiative of the State. Abdul Wurie is introducing the use and adoption of Performance Tracking Tables (PTTs) (results based management matrix β managing for development results (RBM-MfDRs)) for the ssuccessful implementation of the national and Statesβ Strategic Plans across South Sudan.
