Over the past sixteen years, as a developer of business relationships, partnerships and alliances along with providing marketing leadership, Ty has acquired and retained customers, developed brands, created thought leadership and most importantly generated revenue. Results have included over 140 revenue-generating partnerships and alliances, saving over $20MM through innovative and cost-efficient marketing programs, and leading efforts that produced $50MM in revenue.
Effective in big company and start-up environments, Ty was regional business development lead for a software/IVR-focused start-up inside CBS, taking it from 10 to over 400 revenue share partners. Joining Infoseek during its final days he led the first convergent media customer acquisition program to new heights and an 8-1 ROI. Working with the Disney subsidiaries he developed cutting edge brand building and customer acquisition programs that exceeded metrics. At Knight Ridder Digital, he directed the marketing efforts and within 18 months took it from last to first, in the local Internet space, according to ComScore. In the process, he exceeded acquisition and retention goals and saved over $19M of a $33M budget.
Been called by his peers as an action-oriented individual, he is considered a hands-on, go-to person driven by a passion for service and client trust. Having spent much of his career in turnaround situations, Ty understands the need for doing more with less and big picture decision-making. As a vertically engaged team member, Ty thrives when managing multiple competing priorities across multiple projects.
At ad network BlueLithium he was responsible for day-to-day marketing. Through the refinement of the outbound message and development of collateral and tools that addressed core strengths, he grew a nascent marketing program that generated just $80K in the previous 12 months to over $1.2M in the first 90 days under his leadership. As NeoEdge Networks' Marketing VP, a pioneer in video ad technology and casual game monetization, Ty created the messaging, branding, sales programs and training and it became an industry thought leader and revenue generating enterprise. Most recently, Ty was Yahoo!'s Sr. Director of Global Brand Management leading the brand integration efforts for five acquisitions and developing globally adopted partnership and business development brand guidelines.
He is frequently sought out by investment banks and research firms for his views on the online media sector.
