The developer will be responsible for the developing database application software stack. This position entails:

Developing, porting, testing and benchmarking the web 3.0 database application software

Building and maintaining working relationships with technical counterparts at the ISVs, partners, and customers
-
Collaborating with other functional groups within Cray on features related to supporting informatics applications and databases
-
Sound understanding and experience with RDF
-
Proficient in the SPARQL query language
-
Knowledge of Ontology Modeling and Description Logics

A minimum B.S. degree, or equivalent, in a technical field (Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, etc.); advanced degrees desirable

10+ years of experience
-
Proficiency in the following: C, C++, multithreading programming, Java, Linux, shell programming, Semantic databases, web 3.0 applications stack

Analytical problem solving ability

A thorough understanding of vertical informatics applications and databases

Experience developing, debugging, maintaining, supporting, and using application software

Experience supporting and collaborating with external partners
-
Experience optimizing application software
-
Building commercial quality software
-
Knowledge of Rules Languages such as OWL-RL, Jena Rules or Pellet
-
Experience working with Semantic Web Reasoners such as Pellet, Racer Pro, SPIN, etc.

Experience working with Linked Data and firm understanding of Linked Data principles
-
Experience with one or more major commercial triple stores such as Allegrograph, Virtuoso, OWLIM, etc.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
