We are seeing a Senior Systems Architect to join our Engineering team in our New York City office. 

Duties:

• For high-end online marketplace, develop and design online serviceplatform and infrastructure. 
• Design, implement, and maintain a highly scalable and available production environment for a distributed web platform. 
• Oversee the continuous integration process, development, quality assurance and staging environments. 
• Supervise the build/release/deployment process for backend services and front-end application modules in a distributed infrastructure with asset versioning and rollback capabilities.
• Design, implement, and maintain Mysql databases in a replicated, highly available production environment. 
• Design and develop security firewall. 
• Create a redundant systems infrastructure. Manage server orders and setup. 
• Maintain code repositories using svn and git versioning systems and enforce best practices for branching models, integration and deployment of code changes. 
• Utilize php in a LAMP stack to create customer websites.  Assume responsibility for site optimization. 
• Analyze client requirements and design software projects and/or modules to address required new developments or changes.  Design and implement different web application modules.
• Supervise five to six employees including database administrator, system administrator, junior system administrator, one quality assurance personnel and help desk technician.

Requirements:            

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Electical Engineering plus 3 years’ experience as a developer managing a distributed production environment. 
• Must be proficient in Apache Traffic Server, Varnish, Squid, HAProxy or other reverse proxy/chache/load balancer. 
• Must be willing to travel up to eight times a year for trips ranging from three to five days to consult with development team(s) abroad.
