We are seeking a dynamic Senior Research Scientist to provide innovative research that will extend our market leadership. You will work in an open, small company environment free to publish and collaborate with your peers outside the company, while maintaining the ability to significantly impact the company's future.
We seek an outstanding self-directed individual who will define, initiate, and execute research projects; develop new and innovative algorithms and technologies; pursue patents where appropriate; stay current on published state-of-the-art algorithms and competing technologies; and maintain world-class academic credentials through publications, presentations, external collaborations, and service to the research community.
Required Skills / Qualifications:
· MS or Ph.D. in Math, Statistics or related field with outstanding academic credentials, or equivalent life experience
· Some academic or commercial research track record focused on information retrieval, computational linguistics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, statistical algorithms, classification and clustering, data mining, social network analysis or related areas.
· A highly inquisitive mind
· A creative and collaborative spirit
· A passion for Social Media
Also nice would be programming skills in C# /.net, programming skills in Common Lisp (or other rapid-prototyping platform). Location is open, but ideally in and around Carlsbad/San Diego or San Francisco, where the company has offices.
