Hailo is expanding rapidly. Your remit is to continuously review and enhance our operational performance and processes, building a single global operational architecture, enabling Hailo to scale effectively as it rolls out around the world. You will harmonize the local needs of each city to weave a suite of well documented global processes into the fabric of the business, continuously improving to enhance our margins, optimize efficiency, reduce error and enhance the customer experience.
You will work closely with stakeholders from across the business including Product, IT, QA, Customer Services, the New City Launch Team as well as the General Managers and local teams in each city.
Reporting to the global EVP Operations, the successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the operational effectiveness of the Company. This is a “hands-on, roll your sleeves up” position with an opportunity to make a significant impact on an exciting and well-funded early stage business growing fast and managing lots of complexity.
Continuously assess our operational strengths and weaknesses across our existing markets and service offerings, planning for change by also taking account of our future growth plans
As the Company’s operations and process champion, work with senior management to architect the strategy, define priorities and manage their implementation – the buck stops with you
Work closely with stakeholders to identify, specify and prioritize process enhancements (automating as appropriate) to improve efficiency and minimize error
Define new policies and operational processes in advance of the launch of new consumer and driver app features/services
Document and maintain existing policies and processes to enable new cities to launch quickly and operate autonomously
Coordinate with local teams to fine-tune the operational architecture where necessary to cater for unique local circumstances
Proactively investigate and resolve operational issues as they arise
You are a disciplined problem solver and thrive in a fast-paced, constantly evolving start-up environment. You are motivated by building structured processes and have a relentless focus, targeting the big wins, to deliver operational improvement. You take a pragmatic approach to leveraging technology to drive out operational inefficiency versus finding a quick scalable alternative.
Specifically, you have/are:
Minimum 5 years commercial operational or consulting experience, including start-ups
Track record as an unyielding operations professional with demonstrable experience of success
Structured and disciplined thinking, able to decompose a problem/process into discrete parts
An ability to organize others and drive initiatives through to delivery
Process and data driven, numerate and with strong analytical skills
An exceptional communicator
Transportation/logistics experience a plus but not a required
