The role: Sales Insight Analyst, SMB Advertiser Acquisitions and Sales

Help serve Google's worldwide user base of more than a billion people by working within Global Advertising & Product Operations. You focus on AdWords, our service that lets business owners create and run ads, quickly and simply. Business Analysts provide quantitative support, business understanding and a strategic perspective to our partners throughout the organization. As a data-loving member of the team, you serve as an analytics expert for your partners, using numbers to help them make better business decisions. You weave stories with meaningful insight from data. You make critical recommendations for your fellow Googlers in Engineering and Product Management. As a self-starter, you relish tallying up the numbers one minute and communicating your findings to a Sales manager the next.

The Acquisitions Program Team drives the acquisition of new high-growth advertisers for Google by partnering with Inside Sales (ISO), External Telesales (ETO) and Marketing Organizations. The team leads the design, planning and operations of programs that drive a scalable and analytical approach to generating incremental growth. We work in partnership with cross-functional teams across Sales, Marketing, Finance and Engineering. We are experts in delivering strategy and process improvement, team members are analytical and strategic with a pragmatic approach to high impact delivery. In this role, you will provide the analytical thoughts that will accelerate growth and improve Google’s Acquisition productivity.

This role will require you to develop solutions to complex, ambiguous and high visibility business challenges. You will partner with cross-functional teams to deliver acquisition targeting models, and you will work closely with the Sales and Marketing leaders to ensure smooth execution and implementation of these strategic solutions through the sales channels. You will provide analytical expertise and business understanding to the Acquisitions leadership teams. Additionally, you will have exposure and visibility to senior executives and cross-functional leaders as you evangelize opportunities and highlight impacts from your programs.

You are a well-rounded top performer who can be a key contributor in a high energy growth environment. You should be a self starter that can "crunch the numbers" one minute and critically think through strategic issues and communicate to senior stakeholders the next. You will gain invaluable experience in this high impact role working in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute sophisticated analyses and modeling that translates data into actionable insights, and supports targeted selling including prospect profiling, pipeline management and lead insight and development and ongoing evolution of data-driven sales targeting models.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis to predict, measure and interpret business trends and inform key decisions while owning and managing the successful execution of global programs through ISO and ETO channels.
  • Identify opportunities for product, program, and process improvement with a focus on driving significant revenue growth and research and analyze key business drivers, trends and operating metrics.
  • Build and lead the preparation and publishing of metric forecasting and reporting.
  • Communicate findings on a regular basis to all levels of management.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree with quantitative focus (economics, computer science, mathematics, physics, statistics or accounting). In lieu of degree, relevant skills and experience
  • 4 years of Analytical work experience in management consulting, or in a business operations and analytics environment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or other advanced degree.
  • Proven track record of thought leadership in applying data driven models that have had a tangible impact on sales and marketing operations across international markets and analytical mind that is capable of structured analysis of data together with ability to synthesize data into useful formats and bring actionable insights
  • In-depth experience analyzing data with strong Excel, database query experience (e.g. SQL), statistical expertise with tangible revenue generating quantitative modeling experience and knowledge and experience of relational database feeds from external market providers and their overlay onto internal data-warehouse’s a distinct advantage.
  • Consistently deliver quality outputs in a high paced and dynamic environment with an ability to work to tight deadlines and must be extremely well organized and capable of handling multiple projects and ad-hoc requests simultaneously
  • Desire to work in and contribute to a fun, fast-paced, high impact and dynamic environment.
  • Distinctive project management, problem solving and analysis skills, combined with strong business judgment and top communication skills.
