The role: SMB Services Manager

Behind every advertising campaign at Google are systems to make it run. Behind every system is the Ad Serving Operations team to make sure that happens flawlessly. As a member of the team, you are a technical consultant with the dual role of being both client-facing and growing systems from the back-end. An expert in our tools and operations, you provide support, answer field inquiries and troubleshoot client issues. Beyond client-facing issues, your expertise also gives you the insight to recommend product and system improvements to our engineering teams. Your interactions on both sides ensure that when clients advertise with Google, their back-end systems never miss a beat.

As a Team Lead for SMB Services, you will contribute to leading a high-performing services team serving Google's advertisers in North America. You will help to quickly identify and resolve customer concerns and contribute to the growth of our advertiser base. Your objective is to grow and support a talented team of Googlers and contribute to our larger customer service goals, such as CSAT and advertiser retention. Your specific responsibilities will include managing people and may include business ownership over one our segments.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct 1:1 meetings with employees weekly
  • Execute projects involving quantitative analysis, industry research and strategic development.
  • Manage, inspire and motivate a team of client-facing and high-performing Googlers.

Minimum qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree (In lieu of degree, 4 years relevant work experience).
  • 2 years experience managing people or demonstrated aptitude for people management/mentorship

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA
  • Excellent leadership, influencing, organization, communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent business sense, problem solving, project management and analytical skills.
  • Proven record in people management or similar mentorship role.
