POSITION:  DIRECTOR, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Social media is exploding, and it's transforming the way companies market and sell online. Offerpop is a fast growing, VC-funded software company at the forefront of this transformation.  Every day, thousands of brands, retailers and agencies around the world use Offerpop's self-service marketing platform for Facebook and Twitter -- to acquire and engage fans, generate authentic word-of-mouth, and drive sales. The market for our technology is large and growing rapidly, and it's mostly untapped.

Offerpop provides an easy-to-use SaaS platform, which we market and sell directly to end-user customers, and indirectly through digital agencies and other channel partners.  In the past year, Offerpop has signed up thousands of paying customers across a wide range of industries -- from small- and medium-size companies to national and global brands and retailers like American Eagle, Audi, Disney, Gap, NBC Universal, TESCO and Unilever.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Director of Business Development (a new position at Offerpop) will have overall responsibility for partner strategy, partner recruitment/sales and management.  The role requires a strategic mindset, a sales orientation, and strong understanding of the social and digital marketing landscape.  Success in this role is based on driving revenue through partner channels, and driving partner influenced revenue.

Responsibilities:

  • Define, develop and execute the strategy for partnerships and alliances, in alignment with the company’s overall strategy.
  • Build, prioritize and manage a pipeline of partnership opportunities.  This includes relationships with OEM and distribution partners, technology partners, agencies and affiliates in the US and internationally.
  • Provide regular updates to the leadership team on the progress of partnership opportunities, and the expected impact on customer acquisition and revenue targets.
  • Close partnership deals, and lead cross-functional teams to manage the onboarding, enablement and joint go-to-market activity with partners.
  • Track, analyze and communicate key metrics, including partner-driven revenue and partner-influenced revenue.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience building and managing revenue generating partnerships in the SaaS or software industry.  The ideal candidate’s background will also include B2B technology sales experience, preferably in digital marketing, ad tech or SaaS technology.
  • Self-starter and ability to lead initiatives on your own -- as an independent contributor, and as a cross-functional team leader.  You take a hands-on approach; you’re a doer, not a delegator.
  • Proven experience modeling partnership opportunities, and negotiating complex deals.
  • Ability to develop and nurture strong relationships with executives and sales teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. 
  • Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and flawless follow through. 
  • Bachelor’s degree required.  MBA a plus.
  • Must be willing to do some travel.
  • Excellent partner/customer and employer references.

Compensation:

The Director of Business Development will receive an attractive and competitive compensation package including:  base salary plus bonus, pre-IPO stock options, health and dental insurance, 401(k), and pre-tax commuter deductions.
