DATA ENGINEER

Position Summary                

The Data Engineer will provide solutions-based information technology services to the Department of Defense (DoD) including data modeling, system engineering and semantic data engineering.

Contract Specifications

  • Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD security clearance

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field of study (EE, CE preferred)
  • Designing and building taxonomies, ontologies, metadata schema and other information architecture products
  • Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) concepts and implementation, especially Java, XML, Web Services, Message Brokers, associated technologies (HTTP, SOAP, WSDL, etc.) and tools
  • Experince with XML, XSLT, XSD, RDF, and OWL
  • Ability to understand new information sharing patterns and map between schema
  •  Expertise in defining & developing data schema
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to describe technical implementations, work activities and issues
  • Organize work activities to ensure timely completion of assigned responsibilities
  • Document system requirements, designs, and configurations
  • Foster positive work relationships with customers, co-workers, and visitors

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Security+ Certification
  • Experience working in a DoD environment

Additional Requirements

  • Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing; occasional prolonged sitting
  • Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance
  • Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment
