We're looking for impressive JavaScript developers who love crafting amazing user experiences. If you're such a person, you probably have many options where you can apply your skill and passion, so why choose Turn?

We love JavaScript. We use Node, we manage our dependencies with Bower and NPM, build with Grunt, and leverage Angular on the front-end. You don't need to know these applications to work with us (in fact, most of us didn't use these a year ago). By being agile and free of bureaucracy, we use, learn, and change our libraries at our own discretion. We're part of the open source community, our team recently open-sourced our distributed testing platform Thrill, and it's underlying platform, Queen.

We're proud of the products we build. We not only impress our clients, but even the likes of the New York Times. We work closely with user experience experts to design our interfaces, mixing their human-computer interaction expertise with our engineering prowess.

At Turn, what you build has impact on millions and works to better the Internet. You'll do this in one of the fastest growing companies in the Silicon Valley, with a culture that promotes innovation, freedom, growth, and humor. You'll work with people who are as passionate about web applications as you are, along with leading experts in distributed computing, data-mining, and machine learning who build our backend platform.

Here are some things we are looking for:

  • Fluent in JavaScript, CSS, and HTML
  • Familiarity with the DOM and ECMAScript 5
  • Experience building large JavaScript applications
  • Keen sense of information architecture and visual design
  • Familiarity with the MVC pattern and dependency injection
  • Motivated by writing fast, scalable code with testability in mind
  • Familiarity with Java, C#, or other object-oriented language
  • Excited by working in a fast-paced environment
  • 2 or more years of experience in a production-quality web development role
  • Degree in Computer Science a must have

The company culture is very open and transparent. Monthly company meetings give everyone a clear understanding of strategy and business goals. All of our executive staff is very approachable and open to ideas and suggestions. We find balance by playing hard. We have a game room with a pool table, foosball table, PS3, Wii, virtual racing simulators, beer kegs, bean bags, and more. Team-wide hackathons, catered lunches and dinners, and plenty of outings such as happy hours, go karting, SF bay cruises are all part of the Turn environment.

Pool tables, catered lunches, etc are becoming common place in our industry, and as you can see we have them too, but that's not why we work here. We chose to work here because Turn fuels our passion for creating awesome products; and in return, we fuel Turn. We hope you join us.

Location: Redwood City

In addition to our great environment, we offer a competitive base salary, bonus program, stock options, employee development programs and other comprehensive benefits. Please send a cover letter along with your resume when applying to the position of interest located at Turn.com. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer. No phone calls and no recruiting agencies, please.
