Gignite is a small but ambitious team, based in Islington, London.
We're building an online community for creating and sharing live music events. Bringing together artists, venues, organisers and fans on to one social platform.
We’re in the final stages of development and beta is scheduled for launch in January.
Our lead developer, Luke Morton (https://github.com/drpheltright), is looking for a copilot to take this project forward in the new year. You will be working closely together, maintaining and developing our application and systems.
The application is built in PHP using MongoDB and ElasticSearch for data storage and indexing. Using the Kohana v3.3 framework as a light delivery mechanism we rely on good object-oriented design practices to keep a growing codebase in check.
We have both unit tests and acceptance tests using PHPUnit and Behat respectively. We rely on pragmatism to dictate what and when we test.
Our client side code is written in CoffeeScript utilising our own custom routing/history dispatch layer and using many open source libraries for UI widgets.
- Experience with PHP, Ruby, Python or Java (or any OO language)
- A good understanding of SOLID principles
- An appreciation and ability to write clean code
- Experience with application testing (unit and acceptance)
Any knowledge and experience in these would be a bonus:
This is a great opportunity to have an impact on an ambitious project and to work in a progressive and exciting environment. We look forward to hearing from you!
