Job Description:

Sugar Inc., a leading women’s lifestyle content and commerce company is looking for an ad product manager to join our team based in San Francisco or New York. This position will oversee all of our ad product strategy, design, and execution. This includes liaising with ad sales, ad operations, and the engineering team to drive innovation around scaled, platform-like advertising technology.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Ad product strategy: Independently executes high-level market trend analytics around the advertising product landscape (market size, ad product segment growth)

Product design:

  • Ability to develop innovative, scalable ad products that drive measurable performance for advertisers
  • Product scope will include: IAB display, video, and mobile formats; targeting features; interactive social modules; commerce integration
  • Conducts competitive product feature reviews at detailed level to identify opportunities (publishers, ad tech companies)
  • Sets the roadmap for scalable ad products and platforms (modular, CMS-like)

Product Build and iteration:

  • Leads a multi-functional team (that reports to different functional departments) across engineering, ad sales, ad operations, and marketing to ship new ad products and platforms across all of Sugar’s portfolio
  • Responsible for quality of product – timely build and ship, bug tracking and fixing with engineering
  • Analyzes performance of the products (CTR, engagement) and rapidly improves the product based on measurable performance

Partnerships:

  • Leads discussions and business development deal structuring with ad technology partners (terms, pricing), as needed, to enable product development

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of four years of advertising product development experience, preferably at a major publisher or technology company
  • Robust network among the most innovation ad tech companies and what brand marketers want – knows the thought leaders and innovators in industry (agencies, tech companies, publishers)
  • Has a true passion for ad products
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • Exceptional design aesthetic
  • Experience working with engineering teams to ship new, innovative, and scalable ad products
  • Deep knowledge of publishing ad systems (serving, CMS integration, data) and environment
  • Facility and ability to do light coding (e.g., Flash, Java); design experience (Adobe) also a plus
